SPRINGS BIO CO., LTD., established in April 2005 as a biotech company, focuses on the development of local high-temperature microbial resources, with efforts in both basic research and commercial development. Our founder Dr. Chen Mao-Yen graduated from the Department of Botany at National Taiwan University (now the Department of Life Science), specializing in extremophilic microorganisms and thermophilic bacteria present in Taiwan’s hot springs. Dr. Chen has led research teams in multiple academic research projects, government initiatives, and commercial development programs.

SPRINGS BIO is guided by the principle of “learning from the nature”. We collects various extremophilic microorganisms from around the world and harnesses their ability to tolerate extreme environments to develop a composite thermophilic fermentation platform, which significantly improves the efficiency and stability of traditional conversion processes.

We have developed a variety of highly effective functional health food formulas with Extremo Generating Techniquesm (EGTs) and Extremo Coating Techniques (ECTs) in the early years. These formulas have been widely used by many professional healthcare institutions.



As food safety awareness raised, SPRINGS BIO also moves on to agriculture, fishery, and animal husbandry, holding ourselves to the same high standards, to help animals and plants grow healthily, enhance their immunity, and naturally reduce disease losses, with high-performance nutritional supplements. Not only may consumers eat healthy and ensure safety, but also suppliers may reduce breeding costs and increases profits, –– a win-win situation for both sides. We are supporting many of our business partners all over the world with one-stop technical service from R&D, production, to sales.


In SPRINGS BIO’s, we manage R&D processes on a basis of “extremophiles as cell factory” so that advantageous strains simplify the mass production process and reduce energy consumption, and waste materials can be recycled to reduce environmental pollution, creates a green economy, and achieves sustainable ecology.
